UPDATES:

6th January 2008:

The webcam will be closing down on Friday, 11th January (at least for this litter). Email me if you would like to be notified when I have the next litter of puppies and get another webcam up and running.

It is was great meeting you all, and I really appreciate all the private emails about the puppies. It has be been fun. :-)

5th January 2008:

The webcam will be down for a few hours today as the laptop needs some maintenance. It will be back online this afternoon sometime.

Summer has returned to Canberra, so the webcam is back on 24 hours a day (not withstanding today's interruption).

23rd December:

I still have 5 puppies left with me. Kenya and River are still looking for new homes, and Magnolia will be leaving for her new home in the new year.

As Canberra is currently going thru a "Cold snap" (where, oh where has Summer gone!), the babies will be back sleeping inside for the next few nights. Therefore, I will turn the Webcam off at approx 10.30pm Aust EST, and back on in the morning at about 6am Aust EST.

11th December:

Well it's been a long journey, the babies are almost 8 weeks old and will start going to their new homes this weekend. The webcam will continue to run (at least for a few weeks) as not all the babies are going yet.

9th December:

Today is our Puppy Party!!! This is the day that all the local breeders get together and we evaluate the babies. The webcam has been moved so that from approx 2pm each puppy will be placed on the table and discussed. Afterwards, the webcam will be permanently moved to the back deck where the puppies hang out a lot of the time now.

8th December:

BAER testing Results were:-
Aztec – bi-lateral hearing
Earl – Uni-lateral hearing
Haka – bi-lateral hearing
Bubbles – bi-lateral hearing
Sparkle – bi-lateral hearing
Jade – Uni-lateral hearing
Yukon – bi-lateral hearing
Magnolia – bi-lateral hearing
Kenya – bi-lateral hearing
River – bi-lateral hearing
Bailey – bi-lateral hearing

7th December:

The webcam will be offline today as we are heading to Sydney with 13 babies for their BAER (hearing) tests. We will be back online later tonight.

2nd December:

I have been shutting off the Webcam during the day when the pups are outside. In the next day or so, I will set up another cam outside so you can see the pups during the day. I will change camera position depending on where the pups are.

29 November:

Pups are 6 weeks old today! Wow, time goes fast! They had their first vaccinations, and a check up by the Vet today. All have been given a clean bill of health! :-)

20th November:

We have been having problems over the past couple of days with the picture buffering constantly, but I think we have fixed it now. Let me know if there are any other problems.

15th November:

Another milestone today - the puppies all drank from a bowl! I had been trying them with a bowl of milk every day or so for the past week, but they just hadnt been interested in drinking, but tonight when I put the bowl down, they all mugged it. :-)

I have uploaded new still photos of the puppies to the website at: http://www.lukius.com/delta_sam4.htm

13th November:

The babies have now been moved out into the family room so we will trial running the webcam 24hrs a day and see how it goes.

12th November:

Webcam was offline temporarily while we moved the babies. They are now in the family room where they will be exposed to the everyday life sights, sounds and smells.

11th November:

All pups are growing well. The biggest is still Aztec (yellow wool) at 1.670 kg (3.6pounds). Earl is the smallest at 1.205kg (2.6pounds). They love this eating thing now, and are already starting to eat me out of house and home! :-)

I am now feeding 4 times a day at approximately:-
7am
12.30pm
5.30pm
9.30pm

New still photos of the pups have been uploaded to - http://www.lukius.com/delta_sam3.htm

8th November:

All puppies are now over 1kg in weight and are eating food well.- feed time are usually 7am, 5.00pm and around 9.00pm if you want to watch. I have added the weight chart for the last few days below (all weights are in grams). All puppies now have their eyes open as well.

It's amazing that the webcam has had over 6000 hits already. If you are interestested in chatting to us we are normally in the chat room around 9.30pm each night - come in and say Hi!!

6th November:

I have started to weaning the puppies and some of them have taken to it like a duck to water! Others are taking a bit more convincing that this wet mushy stuff is actually food. :-) It is a fairly messy process at the moment with some of them more interested in wadding thru the food rather than eating it, but they are getting there. It is very cute to watch if you manage to see them.

We now have 10 of the 13 puppies over 1kg in weight! The only 3 who are not over a kilo in weight now are Earl, Yukon and Sparkle, and they are not far off it.

5th November:

We installed a new webcam on Saturday (a Logitech Quickcam Ultra Vision for those interested in the technical stuff). Included in its specifications is up to 30 frames per second (the old one was 15 frames a second) and movement recognition. We have set the camera to zoom to 120% if it detect movement. It will then zoom out again when movement is decreased. Remember to let us know what you think of the new cam.

Due to a technical glitch on this end the webcam was offline yesterday until about 7.00pm when the tech support person was able to come over and get it working again. Sorry to those that tried to log on and missed seeing the babies, we are hoping it won't happen again.

3rd November:

Sparkle now has her eyes fully open as well! Earl wont be far behind Sparkle either. They are also starting to toddle around (as opposed to crawl), although they are still unsteady on their feet.

New still photos should be up on my website later on today.

2nd November:
